The food and beer at the St. Francis Brewpub are on par or better than any of the other brew pubs in the city, this is why I go back. The service can range from great to awful. There seems to be a strange paradox here, service is really good when they are busy and downright terrible when they are dead. Last night there were 6 people at the bar and maybe 8 tables occupied yet we still had to wait for everything we ordered as well as remind the waitress what we ordered several times. Waitresses were constantly walking by our table, just not our waitress. This could be a really great place if they could get some staff that knew how to do their job. Servers at a brew pub NEED to know a little about the beers they are serving as well.

I will NEVER go back to St. Francis Brewery again. I was burned 3 times by them & there won't be a 4th time. First time I went we ordered a burger cooked medium well and when it came to the table I cut in to it & it was raw inside. The waitress gave us a free appeitizer card for a next visit. The second time we went there to use the card the waitress never took it off the bill. The third time we went for fish frys. The waitress took our order & we waited 45 minutes to have the waitress come back & tell us she lost our ticket & that our order was fourth in line. The staff here is incompetent. Until they get their act together I won't be coming back. I made sure to pass the word on to family & friends.

"Service was bad again though! The hostess was overwhelmed and pretty rude to people. Our waitress didn't even offer us refills on our drink order. I think this place needs to train the staff about customer service...!!! It is a beautiful place and I was so excited to go there...but was so dissappointed both times with the service." I was your server, and I am great at remembering experiences and faces. I remember your table, everything was prompt. Drinks were refilled. The two teenagers had diet cokes, I filled them twice if not more. I also got the two gentlemen other beers when asked. Sorry that you thought the service was terrible.

We waited until now to go when the hype was over and we could get a table in a timely manner. It worked, we went today around 1pm and got a table right away. Overall the service was good but that is where my positive experience ended. I ordered soup and nachos (I realize this isn't their specialty but was just in the mood for them). The soup, beer cheese, was just plain gross! If I closed my eyes, I could have sworn I was drinking a hot bottle of dark beer. Yes, I know beer is 50% of the soup but it really lacked any real interest or flavor. The stale pretzel pieces on top didn't help either. As with most places, the plate of nachos was huge and difficult to eat. They were as dry as could be and if I hadn't drenched them in salsa, I wouldn't have been able to choke them down. I hate to give negative opinions on places, especially this one that I was so hopeful for, but I can't resist. Based on this trip, we won't be returning. Sorry!

Went there twice. Once for lunch with a friend and my 2 year old son and once for dinner on a Friday night. Both times I was not impressed! At lunch, we were offered a raised table in the bar area (need a high chair with a 2 year old)...then were told that their would be a 10 minute wait. Not a big deal. We were then seated at a booth...given menu's and took our drink orders. I asked for a high chair again...and she told me that we would have to move, because they can't put high chairs on the end of a booth. We were moved a 3rd time. This was to a table where I finally was able to get a high chair. Hurrah! We even got a new waitress...who took our drink orders for a second time. Neither of the waitresses brought drinks to us. ??? We asked...she said sorry...then took our food order. They didn't even get that right. Mine was right, but my friends was wrong. They said sorry again and brought the new order...and that wasn't right again either! Wow! Very dissappointed! Bad Service from the hostess to the waitress. The following day...Friday... we had plans to go there again, because the other couple wanted to try it as well. We had a party of 7. Four adults, two teens and my two year old again. We couldn't make a reservation...because they don't take them yet...and we waited an hour. We were finally seated. The two teenagers wanted to order off the kids menu...because..after all these years of eating off of it...they are use to it and dont like anything different. We were told that they couldn't do that. I was pretty fed up at that point. The waitress said ...she could make an exception this one time. Which was good...because it will be my last time there!!!! My friend Dawn ordered the Vegetable Stew. It cost around $13.00. It was a bowl of watery orange liquid ...with a few lumps in it....hardly stew...more like a soup. It was spicy and tasted terrible. The fish was very good and my food was very good as well. Service was bad again though! The hostess was overwhelmed and pretty rude to people. Our waitress didn't even offer us refills on our drink order. I think this place needs to train the staff about customer service...!!! It is a beautiful place and I was so excited to go there...but was so dissappointed both times with the service. And I am very easy to please! Our other friends said they thought it was pretty expensive and said they wouldn't come back either. :-( Hopefully...they work out the kinks...because I thought my food was great! Loved the beef which was marinated in their beer...and the potatoes and cabbage! The Thai Peanut chicken and rice was very good. Sampled the beers! Five Stars for most of them(not a dark beer fan). The rootbeer soda is great too. It has a maple flavor! Hope this helps!
