It's at Sendik's. Starting this month, Balistreri-owned-and-operated Sendik's Food Markets offer a new health-conscious option in its meat departments.
Sendik's has partnered with Tallgrass Beef Company to sell grass fed and finished beef that is free of synthetic hormones, sub-therapeutic antibiotics, animal byproducts and grain. This serves as an alternative to the traditional corn-fed beef.
Tallgrass Beef Company was founded by veteran Chicago journalist Bill Kurtis to produce grass beef that is free from chemicals produced in a sustainable and humane manner.
Kurtis will be in Milwaukee visiting several Sendik's Market locations on April 24 and 26 where he'll talk to customers and offer samples.
Schedule:
April 24
Elm Grove: 13425 W. Watertown Plank Rd., 10-11:30 a.m.
Germantown: NW112 W15800 Mequon Rd., 12:30-2 p.m.
April 26
Greenfield: 7901 W. Layton Ave., 10-11:30 a.m.
Franklin: 5200 W. Rawson Ave., 12:30-2 p.m.
