Caribbean themed The Good Life arrives on the East Side
Milwaukee’s condo boom has brought with it a lot of new retail and restaurant space, which in turn, has provided a barrage of new openings in the past 180 months. The Good Life has joined the ranks of some of the area's better additions.

The Good Life comes to the East Side
Sweeping over Humboldt Avenue like a wave is a structure that also conjures the sound of the sea in a conch shell. And it will be the perfect home for Good Life, a Caribbean inspired bar and restaurant run by the husband and wife team of DJ and Cassie Brooks.

Good Life equals good music
On my first visit to Good Life, I enjoyed the food. But even more, I enjoyed going to a Caribbean-themed business that didn't feature tie-dyed-looking murals featuring Bob Marley's face and the whole schlocky, cynical exploitation of the departed superstar. Even better, there was not a hint of Buffett anywhere!!

Good Life still open, new menu debuts Thursday
Rumors regarding Good Life's death are greatly exaggerated. The Caribbean-inspired bar and restaurant at 1935 N Water St. has been closed for several days, but it's set to reopen on Thursday with a revamped kitchen, menu and several specials.
