Lucescu Jr takes up Romania reins
Răzvan Lucescu, the 40-year-old son of FC Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu, has followed in his father's footsteps after being named coach of Romania's national team with Victor Piţurcă relieved of his duties.
Haan and Albania go separate ways
Arie Haan, 60, has reached an agreement with the Football Association of Albania to step down as coach of the national team following the recent FIFA World Cup qualifying defeats by Hungary and Denmark.
Dual role for Lithuania's Couceiro
The Lithuanian Football Federation has given Portuguese coach José Couceiro the green light to divide his time between leading their national team through FIFA World Cup qualifying and Turkish outfit Gaziantepspor.
Czechs part company with coach and captain
Petr Rada has been sacked as coach of the Czech Republic after overseeing two wins in six FIFA World Cup qualifiers – 24 hours after captain Tomáš Ujfaluši announced his retirement from international football.
Belgium dispense with Vandereycken
René Vandereycken has been dismissed as coach of Belgium due to poor results with the recent home and away defeats by Bosnia-Herzegovina in FIFA World Cup qualifying Group 5 consigning the 55-year-old to his fate.
