Reclaimer - Guest Comic 4

The Cavalcada have feelings too!

Oops, looks like we missed this one from this morning.  Reclaimer has published another guest comic, this one coming to us from the mind of The Catfish.  Things are getting shaky on the set, it seems.  Thanks to the fine, upstanding folks at HBO for the link.

Conventional wisdom.

Susskind steps in for Stitzel this week and he's laying all the conventions bare.  It's all in good fun and actually quite funny if you're a fan of the series.  Hit the jump, comment, and bookmark the site - Reclaimer will be back with their regularily scheduled programming soon.

Tag and Release - Arbiter

Posted by urk at 4/27/2009 10:10 AM PDT

Continue your campaign.

Tag and Release turns to one of the more iconic figures from the Halo trilogy this week, looking to uncover some screenshots of the once disgraced Sangheili Commander in action.  While these don't necessarily represent the Highest Rated content from the community pile, they're still pretty sweet in their own ways.  If you want to see the entire Arbiter screenshot collection, simply click on the link and start searching.

If you're still baffled by the tagging system you're no heretic, you simply need to spend a little more time with our All Tags tool.  Head in, sift and sort however you like, and see what you can find.  And if you want to make your own content more searchable, make sure you add the relevant tags so we, and other players, can find them amidst the masses.

Reclaimer - Guest Comic 2

Posted by urk at 4/27/2009 9:20 AM PDT

A brief hiatus and helping hands.

Looks like Reclaimer went on vacation over the weekend.  No worries, they've got guest comic creators filling the role.  While they're not continuing the story arc in any meaningful way, you'll probably get a kick out of them if you've been following the series.  And if you want to try your own hand, you can submit your own to see if it makes the grade.  There will be eight guest comics in all.

Reclaimer - Guest Comic 2

"Anyone who wants to contribute a comic to fill in the missing days is welcome to do so. The comic can be built from Halo 3 screenshots, hand drawn, created from Mega Man sprites, anything you want. They can be funny, serious, or something in between. The only proviso I demand is that the comics be, in some way, related to Reclaimer. Comics that get sent to me will show up in place of regular Reclaimer comics – and I’m willing to feature one a day, starting tomorrow through to the following Saturday. That’s eight days, eight guest comics. If you’d like to contribute, just email your comic to reclaimercomic@gmail.com. In the event that I receive more than eight, I’ll pick my favorites to feature on the front page and the rest will go into a special gallery on the Extras page. So get crackin’!"

'Infection' A Halo 3 Machinima

Posted by urk at 4/24/2009 1:35 PM PDT

Living up to its name.

Seems this piece of media is quite infectious, making its way to us via HBO, who in turn found it by checking in with Hawty McBloggy, who in turn found it over at YouTube.  If you like brains, or watching folks eat them, you should tune in.

"Get to da Choppa!"

HBO picked up on a new Geekskape! Teabag Prevention article.  This time out, they're checking in on the Brute Chopper.  Sick of getting mowed down mid four shot?  Want to return the favor?  Check out the article below.

"I would have been your daddy..."

"...but I just had to take a photo of that rock. Penned with great wisdom, this Aesthetic Artist enlightens the community with alluring information and some insightful messages. He has been recognized all around Bungie.net, and the people over at Team Pepto have managed to sit down and catch a few moments of time with none other than one of the Founding Fathers of Halotography, AusQB."

One day.  One idea.  One video.

The Duo Group wondered what a Warthog commercial might look like.  They also wondered what it could look like if they made it in a single day.  The result?

Vertical Takeoff and LEGO?

Putting the pieces together.

Over at HBO, Black Six noticed a pretty cool LEGO construction on display over at The Brothers Brick, a website dedicated to showing off the much loved childhood (and adult) building blocks.  This particular showcase is a UNSC Hornet, amazingly recreated with surprising accuracy.  Interested?  Check it out.

You can't do that on television.

Hawty McBloggy dug up some interesting pieces of Forge art this morning.  The sixteen screenshots on display pay tribute to televisions shows you may know and love.  If you know and love the Power Rangers, it'll be our little secret.  Thanks to HBO for the heads up.  And a brief warning: Bart Simpson likes to take his pants down.  Don't have a cow.  Man.

Taking tags to the skies.

Many an on foot player has been pestered, hounded, and enveloped by a burst of superheated plasma courtesy of the Type-26 Ground Support Aircraft, better known as the Covenant Banshee.  But the collection of assets we've gathered today won't irritate, we pretty much guarantee it.  Check out the trio of screenshots on display in this week's Tag and Release.

Multi-Mythic Conquered

Posted by urk at 4/20/2009 9:13 AM PDT

Taking it up a notch.

Tyrant122312 stopped by over the weekend to let us know that he and one other player finally completed the entirety of Halo 3's campaign on the Mythic difficulty.  That's all gameplay modifying skulls in the on position for maximum insanity.  And while the game itself only imposes a checkpoint penalty for either player succumbing to the enemy's Legendary onslaught, this pair took it one step further, voluntarily restarting the entire level when either one fell.

Don't believe it?  They caught it all on Saved Film.  Check it out.

Episode 179 of Reclaimer is ready, just in time for convergence.  Ferial continues to make plans. Seems timing is key.

The RFID Skull Project

Posted by urk at 4/17/2009 11:31 AM PDT

Is it still a one-hit kill?

HBO pointed out a pretty amazing story about a do-it-yourself Airsoft player who fashioned a working Oddball for use in all kinds of non-lethal activities (including just grossing people out).  Hold it close to your chest and keep your thumbs pressed into the empty eye sockets, and this sweet skull will keep track of how many seconds you have it in your grasp.  Whether you think this is genius or just plain digusting, you should check out the link below.  It has details on the inspiration behind the innovation, videos of it in use, and detailed descriptions of how it was put together.

HBO pointed out that the winners of the Reclaimer: Sandbox Forge competition have been announced.  Reclaimer was looking for a new set piece for the comic, not necessarily a fully-functioning map, but if you're interested in checking out who won, or just seeing the Map Variants that were entered, click the link below.  They're all ready for download in case pictures aren't your thing.  Fire them up and check 'em out first hand.

Additionally, you can submit news to Bungie. All that's required is a Bungie.net account. We will review your submission and if it is worthy we'll add it to our blog.
