Kornati national park

The Kornati archipelago is a specific cluster of islands that is located between the Šibenik and Zadar archipelagoes, it has an area space of approx 320km2 (150km2 of land). This indented island ecosystem on the Adriatic (1185 islands, 99 populated), has always attracted numerous numbers of sailors, divers and hikers. The park's length is 35 km (19NM), and width is 13 km (7NM). The park is positioned into 4 lines of islands, that are arranged into two groups: the top Kornati (the Sit and Žut island line), and the bottom Kornati (Kornati and Pišker island line).
Only 9 islands have an area space that is larger than 1km2 whereas 76 islands are less than a 1 hectare. According to some figures, the length of the islands coastline is 66 km; while the bottom Kornati (N.P Kornati) has a length of 185 km. Tourism began to flourish here in the 1970s and 1980s, at the same time the local population (habitants of the island of Murter) grew more aware of the dangers of mass tourism, which dominated Croatian tourism in those years.

  Krka national park

National Park Krka was established in 1985 and it's the seventh national park in Croatia . The park is located in the Šibenik-Knin County . The area space of the park is 118 km2. The park's boundaries surround the river Krka. (2 km downstream from the town Knin to the town Skradin, and also it includes the lower course of the river Čikola). The spring of the river is at the base of the Dinara Mountains near the town of Knin . The river Krka is 72 km long. The area space, which includes the entire basin of the river, is 2088 km2. The amount of water that flows down the Skadinski Buk is 55 m3/s, but in the winter it grows up to 350 m3/s. The river has seven travertine waterfalls, Bilušić Buk (22,4m), Brljan (15.5m), Monoljavački Waterfalls (a group of waterfalls with a total height of 56,6m, and a main barrier that is 32m high.), Rošnjak(8,4m), Miljacka waterfall (23,8m), Roški waterfall (25,5 m) and Skradinski Buk (17 travertine steps with a total height of 45,7m). With a total downfall of 242 m, Krka is a natural karstic phenomenon.

Travertine is a limestone that builds up naturally. This travertine builds up into a variety of shapes (travertine brinks, sheaths, cloaks), which are a phenomenon of the park. The waterfalls are biodynamic creations; they grow bit by bit every year.
