The Milwaukee County Zoo is considered among the finest in the country. It is situated on 200 wooded acres and is home to approximately 2,500 animals, representing 300 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and invertebrates.

The Milwaukee County Zoo hosts more than 20 special events each year including celebrations at Easter, Halloween and the holiday season.

Open 365 days a year, the Zoo is not be be missed, it's the wildest place in town!

Smile Day at the Zoo

The public is invited to attend the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association’s 19th annual Smile Day. Families receive free zoo admission and parking. The Peck Welcome Center will again be the site of fun and educational oral health activities presented by students from Marquette University School of Dentistry and the dental hygiene programs at Milwaukee Area Technical College and Waukesha County Technical College. The tooth fairy will be on hand to visit with children throughout the day and Smile Day visitors of all ages will enjoy David Seebach's Wonders of Magic show. Every child who visits the Peck Welcome Center will also receive a free toothbrush.
