If you have beat Halo 3 on Legendary you will see Chief's ship floating towards a planet, I am lead to believe this planet is Reach or the planet seen in the Halo: Reach trailer. The planets look just about the same, Think what you may want to think. I think when chief goes through the portal and the ship gets cut in half Chief actually went back in time, This means we could be fighting as Spartan 117 in Halo Reach.



This is how I believe the game will play out. Chief will fight in the Battle of Reach kill some covenant and loose the battle then retreat with the rest of the marines. When Chief gets on the Pillar of Autumn he will save the Commander (Whos name escapes me at the moment) who was piloting the ship, (The guy who at the beginning of Halo CE says, "Their Here" or something on the lines of that and then gets killed by an Elite) Soon after that Chief and the other marines along with the Commander will go down to the Halo Ring with Chief as their guide, And get the war over with all of the right moves.

Remember in the trailer it says "From the BEGINNING you knew the END."

For everyone who is saying something about the books, I have heard enough about the books! Just because it's in the book doesn't mean it will happen in the series, As far as I know Bungie didn't even make the books!

For everyone who is saying Chief was never in Reach, I know this, If Chief goes back in time he could fight in the battle of Reach!

Well, I seriosuly doubt it, because the area that Chief is in looks pretty uninhabited. But I also doubt he went back in time, when the portal closed, it just cut the ship in half, nothing else.

Reach was a planet significant to the halo story. If you read halo:the fall of reach, you'll see what happens.

I disagree...

1) Reach was glassed in the books, and the planet had very distinct surface features that could not behave in the manner that it did from being glassed.

2) What would be the point of the cliffhanger/mystery music at the end of the trailer if the Chief is landing on the remains of Reach, especially because Reach is one of the closest human colonies to Earth?

true but dont put it past bungie, maybe he did time travel. I mean they already are experimenting with new lead charaters, so why do it again? of course, the chief was there for the beginning/end of reach falling (Read Fall of Reach, and First Strike) so its very possible we're coming in during first strike, or you play as fred and all of em and then the chief comes in at the end. I don't underrstand why they are making a game about a story already told, why not just continue forward? But who knows. Can't wait bungie! Thanks so much!

Reach was a planet controlled by the military. Covies came and started a big battle. This will be a prequel.

The frigate had two parts still, even though they weren't together.
One half of MC's ship made it through the jump, the other half did not.

Also, in the trailer, they say SPARTANS, as in, more than one. Master Chief was the last surviving one after reach I do believe.

Yes, the Slipspace rupture might have something.....But also at the eginning it says from the beginning you know the end. So you probably will end up dieing at the end of the game...

Think of it this way.

M$ owns the Halo name.
M$ also said that we HAVE NOT seen the last of Master Chief.
Master Chief is NOT in ODST.

What does this tell you.....
And the thing in the beginning says you know the beginning from the end. This could be a reference to the end of Halo 3.

I highly doubt Bungie would make a game that kills off your character in the end if every fan already knows about it. That would be just....well.....stupid.

No, that is referring to the largest Covenant fleet that the UNSC ever saw amass in the Epsilon Eridani system right by Reach. Read the books, or at least read up on Reach here.

Reach was destroyed a while before Halo 3...
It was glassed, but the planet itself is intact. It cannot sustain life anymore because the atmosphere boiled off during the glassing process.

"This is Sierra 259, we've got Spartans on the Ground sir, We're not going anywhere"

Sierra 259 means Spartan 259, and there are spartans on the ground, which is exactly true in the books. Spartan 259 is unknown, but the rest fits perfectly well with a prequel.

time travel wouldnt be possible his actions would be relevant already. he would of been able change history. which wouldnt be possible. why. because if he did time travel his actions would of already occured.he would have to die along with anyone who saw his actions. because if the story was told about him coming back through time, how come we havn't heard about it before in all the stories out there. we would have had to hear about a random no name spartan for it to be plausible,

ODSTs Kickass Human Veterens of War.
Both are so awesome, its a wonder how we were losing the War.

Could be that Chief is heading back to Reach after the Fall, adding Time Travel would really mess the story up. Or we can go with the assumption its a Prequel.
