      • 1 Sided VIP (1.4%, Skipped after veto) - One player on one team is designated "VIP." As of this very instant, those looking to work out the stress and tension built up from this week's work can exorcise their demons in the Team Melee Double EXP Playlist.  It's been updated to include a team-oriented version of Punchout, previously branded "Black Friday" in the Turkey Day Playlist from last November.

Team Melee is available from 11am PDT April 16th (today) and runs until 2am Monday morning.  Heroic, Legendary, and Cold Storage are required.  Mythic is optional.

7 on the 7th: Avalanche!

As Spring warms up, thaw off in the frostiest map in Matchmaking.


Available now and until 1am PDT on the ninth, the 7 on the 7th playlist is back, featuring Avalanche! For those not aware of it, 7 on the 7th is an achievement added to the Halo lineup last year that can only be achieved on the 7th of every month. The 7 on the 7th playlist exists specifically to give players a shot at that elusive achievement.

For the past several months, now, we've featured 7v7 matches on Avalanche. Given the change of seasons, we feel that hosting 7 on the 7th on such an icy map seems almost inappropriate. As such, we will at least temporarily retire the Avalanche 7 on the 7th after this month. In May, 7 on the 7th will be something a little more mythic, if you catch my drift.

Rocket Race Double EXP Weekend!

VIP escort with a multi-team, mongoose-based twist


Starting now, Rocket Race is available in double EXP format. For those of you that missed out when Rocket Race was a full-time playlist, the gametype pits multiple teams of two in VIP-escort styled gameplay. Everyone spawns with rockets and is invincible, and the goal is to reach the far-spread escort points before the other teams. To aid you in this, you'll spawn near a trusty steed: The Mongoose.

Rocket Race is available from Thursday, March 26th at 11am PDT until Monday, March 30th at 2am. Heroic map pack is required. Have fun!

3 Ball 3 Ball 3 Ball

Get it? I said '3 Ball' three times because its name has the number 3 in it.


Starting right now, 3-Ball is available for Double EXP in Halo 3 Matchmaking. Newcomers to the gametype will find themselves separated into four teams of three. All the gametypes in the playlist revolve around three oddballs, so one team is going to feel left out if they don't act pretty quickly.

3 Ball is available from 11am PDT Thursday, March 19th until 2am Monday the 23rd. Heroic and Legendary are required.
