Awards

Overview

Every year, publishers and creators submit their best products in a variety of categories to vie for the honor of winning an Origins Award. A jury of experts drawn from the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design and GAMA’s three divisions select the games which become Origins Awards Nominees.

The top five vote-getters in each category earn a place on the final ballot. The members of the Academy then vote on which products should be named as Origins Award winners.

In addition, all nominated games also become eligible for the Gamer’s Choice Game of the Year award. Voting for this award is open to everybody who cares to vote, but each person only gets to vote once. Voters pick their top five games and rate them from five to one, with five being the favorite. Once the voting closes, the game with the highest rating wins the award.

Fellows of the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design (AAGAD) include published game designers, writers, artists, and other game creators. Membership in the Academy is open to anyone working professionally in the game industry who has three published gaming credits. For information about joining the Academy, see the Academy website at aagad.originsgames.com.
