Hypothesis
We think that classical music will make a plant grow tallest and healthiest because classical music is soothing and relaxing.

Purpose
Our purpose is to find out what kind of music will make a plant grow tallest and healthiest.  We want to find this out because we know that water affects plants' growth in a good way, but how does music affect their growth?

Materials
  • Four Plants
  • Tape or CD Player
  • Water
  • Measuring cup
  • Sun from the East
  • Blank Tape
  • Classical CD or tape
  • Pop CD or tape
  • Oldies CD or tape
  • Country CD or tape
  • Blank lables
  • Marking pen
Procedure
  1. Buy four plants.
  2. Put them in a place where they get sun from the East.
  3. Every other day, play six minutes of classical music to one plant, play six minutes of country music to one plant, play six minutes of pop music to one plant, and six minutes of oldies music to one plant.
  4. Every other day the plants get 1/4 cup of water each, and after each week give to another person.
  5. Each week, take a picture of all the plants together, and at the end, take a picture of each one separately.
  6.  After one month, see which plant is the tallest and healthiest.
  7.

Results
In the end, the plant that listened to country music was 5 inches, the plant that listened to classical music was 4 inches, the plant that listened to pop music was 3.5 inches, and the plant that listened to oldies music was 3.25 inches tall.

The Second Week...

The Third Week . . .

Conclusion
In the end, the plant that listened to country music was the tallest.  We think that is so because the music that the classical plant listened to was not as peaceful, it was more loud.
