Hypothesis
I believe that if you plant the sunflower seeds in a direction it will have no effect on how the plant grows.

Purpose
I wanted to find out if you plant a sunflower seed in a direction it will have no effect on how the plant grows.

Materials
  • 48 plant seeds,
  • 48 plant cells- small containers to grow seeds,
  • water, potting soil, and Jiffy Mix- A seed starting and growing mix
Procedure

  1. Each plant cell has 5cm. of soil and Jiffy mix. There were 2 1/2 cm. of Jiffy Plant  Mix and 2 1/2 cm. of potting soil.
  2. In each growing cell one sunflower seed was placed in one of four directions facing left , right, front, and back.1/2 cm. from the top layer of soil mix.
  3. 20 millileters of of water was given everyday.
  4. I recorded and observed the direction that the seeds grow.

Results
I didnít water the plants the way I was supposed to.  At first, I watered them once a week , then I forgot  to water them.  Finally, I watered them too much and the next week they died.

Conclusion
In conclusion, my hypotheis is correct that if you plant the sunflower seeds in a direction it will have no effect on how the plant grows.
