I found mine in of all places Borders and I am definitely going to see if they can back order past issues, since they are more books than magazines this way. I personally love the cover as I am more into the darker Lolita than the bubbly-sweet. I do love that they cover Besty Johnson's jewelry line in this issue. Her stuff is definitely for Lolita's of every style and I have been collecting her for sometime now.

I love the picture, its so dark. But I would like it if they put a photo instead of art work. Lolita isn't just anime.

I personally don't like this cover at all, the last cover was much prettier. I do agree they need to show the gothic side of Lolita, but something about this picture just sets me off. Oh well I'm super excited for this issue..is it really not going to be out until September 16?

OOOO gothic, it seems that sweet has become a bit more popular than gothic lately. I remember when it was all about gothic lolita Great Reminder

WoW!!! I love the new cover for volume 3 of the mook. Also, I can't wait to read the mana-sama interview. My Mana-sama Lovers clanmates will love to read all about it. "If anyone is interrested in joining, join anytime." ^___________________________________^

i like this cover so much more than the last one...i can't wait to get this volume

i think the new cover the beautiful. the last cover was completely sweet lolita, and this all gothic lolita, even elegant gothic lolita. very appropriate.

What a unique cover.

07.24.2008 12:00 AM

What an ugly cover. It's not cute at all. It totally gives the magazine a evil feel, instead of an elegant lady-like one.

07.24.2008 12:00 AM

O.O the cover changed! when'd that happen XD Vol.26 pattern-wise has: that Mille Fleurs blouse, Ma bat minihat, corsage & headdress from Angelic Pretty. Then theres the daft patterns from Kana: A very short looking frilled onepiece that looks low cut at the bust, and a gothic punk looking Ouji-sama shirt & half trousers =_=; I wonder if all those patterns will be in this issue?

07.23.2008 12:00 AM

as long as they have the patterns from the specific one..we can make our own full DRESS!!

07.16.2008 12:00 AM

And their back to using the covers from the original japanese mook! I guess no one really warmed up to the previous mook's O-hime-sama & Ouji-sama style cover then ;_;

Active Anime
This art book is created from the original Japanese version of it,
having enough photographs, art and information for any type of Lolita,
Gothic, Pirate, Sweet or Punk.
There is no room for disappointment here - all needs are catered to in
this first volume extravaganza detailing the origins of the gothic and
Lolita craze that is sweeping the east and now the west. There is a lot
of mentioning of brand name clothing and jewellery for all types of
Lolita anyone can think of, all complete with frills, bows, lace, socks
and boots.

Featured brands include Naoto Blood, Black Peace Now and Atelier Boz.
But the most astonishing brand is that of punk icon designer Vivienne
Westwood.
Tips on making your own clothing and an insert of patterns for making
your own accessories is at the beginning of the book and useful to any
budding Lolita, from a wolf hat, bunny-ear cape, cat ears, Alice head
band and an Alice tote bag will continue the hours of enjoyment.

This book is not short of stars either as visual kei band members Rame
and Jui are featured, as are Hakuei and O-Jiro of Penicillin, Nana
Kitade, and renowned musician Mana of band Moix Dix Mois, formerly of
Malice Mizer.
There is a mince article in there for readers to send in their
photographs and artwork for inclusion in the pages of each issue, making
it a packed book for fans and new to the genre types.

And if that was not enough, there is extra art, interactive parts and a
special bonus manga.

IN SUMMARY: Superb, this is an essential buy for any Lolita's bookshelf!

More than any other publication, Gothic & Lolita Bible has played an instrumental role in defining the Japanese Lolita style. A quarterly mook (magazine/book hybrid) that's a combination fashion magazine, culture guide, and art book, the Bible caters to fans of two separate but related fashions: Gothic and--to a greater extent--Lolita. Volume 3 of the U.S. edition offers content from volume 26 (September 2007) of this definitive Japanese mook, published in English for the first time, along with exciting original content covering the Gothic and Lolita culture in North America.
