Experience the magical, mystical world that inspired the Aria anime...One-hundred and fifty years after its terraforming, Aqua, the planet formerly known as Mars, is now almost completely covered in water. A young girl named Akari Mizunashi lives in the city of Neo-Venezia, an exact replica of the old Italian city of Venice, where she works as a gondolier tour guide. While giving people tours of her beautiful city, Akari learns to appreciate her city when she helps an elderly tourist find his daughter, teaches a friend some history about ancient Venice and discovers the secret behind Aqua's unusual sun showers.

all my friends say "it's so girly and stupid!! how can you read this crap?" T_T but i think it's awesome, even though i have to hide it cause of the age rating (my mom's strick about that and i'm only 13)

I really love ARIA for the way it provokes calmness in the reader. I think the age rating is OT because 13 yr. olds would not fully appreciate reading this. To clear things up, this manga does have an inside colour page. I couldn't be more pleased with this volume. I'm getting future volumes until the very end of the series!!

True true. I too have ADV's version. (Just Volume 1 though.) Gosh, how come Tokyopop doesn't include colour inserts for various manga anymore? They're what makes manga pretty.

Weird age rating is right. And I don't like how TP didn't include a color insert. It was all black and white. Glad I was able to get my hands on ADV's version. Its much better. But I'm gonna have to buy 4-11 from TP..can't wait.. Tey could have atleast kept the same cover art/font..

Why the heck is this rated Older Teens? When ADV had it as All Ages. There's like absolutely nothing in the first volume of this manga. Plus, Aqua on Tokyopop is rated for 13 and up. That is some weird age-rating o__O

Yes they brought it back. And I'm glade that TokyoPop is going to sell it. And i can't wait utile they come out with more so i can start collecting them again. Mean ADV stopped making them after the third one, and i want to know what happens even thaw they made the show (I liked the show too, but i think i prefure the manga better). So any thanks you so much for bring this back. ^^

I wouldn't hope for colour pages too much, they Dropped the colour inserts from AQUA, I have seen the jap version, and the image in the front of vol1 of AQUA suffers for not being in colour, it was a truly beautiful image. I have the old ADV copies of this, it'll be interesting to compare XD And at least the series is getting its revival, which is worth more than anything. I love ARIA so much.

I just hope that this includes the one color page within the book. I mean the one released by ADV had those color one pages in the book, my friend is so lucky to have those versions release by ADV before they disappeared from the stores. I want the artbook.

I guess we'll have to cross our fingers on the color pages. Did you know there are three artbooks so far? Alpha, Stella, and Ceilo. They cover Amano-sensei's other works in addition to Aqua and Aria but they are all wonderful illustrations. All the color art in the ADV releases are in Alpha as full page illustrations and there is more besides.

ADV released the first three volumes and then dropped the series along with several others. I'm very glad that Tokyopop is not only reviving the series, they are also releasing the 1st two books titled Aqua which cover Akari's arrival on Aqua and her early adventures as a Pair(novice).
