We are pleased to announce another SummerCup hosted by Clanbase. With Killerboy and Homer as Cup Supervisors, Enemy Territory Crew hopes to be positively surprised by the number of signups again.This season will have remarkably many changes. Please let me go through them at the beginning.
First of all, it will no longer be a 5on5 tournament. Back to classic 6on6 fights should make preparations easier as people are used to that format.
Secondly, by the decision of Clanbase chiefs, this SummerCup season won't have groupstage at all. Clans will be fighting straight away in a knock-out phase only. Depending on number of signups, teams may participate in single or double elimination. More than 240 clans accepted will result in single-elimination phase. Anything less than that level will consequent in having double elimination playoff tree.
Because of that, there be no wildcards! But on the other hand, you will be allowed to add 4 players to APL during the cup - 1 per matchweek maximum tho.
Furthermore, all matches must be played on servers that stream to the ClanBase/Game-Violations repository. If the match was played on a non-streaming server the match will be cancelled and the clans will have till the end of the matchweek to challenge and play each other again.
At last but not least, Cup Supervisors have decided to change the mappool in order to have a good feedback before selecting maps for next EuroCup / OpenCup season. Discussions and called polls ( thanks sol!) lead us to announce the mappool of 8:
bremen_b2 as a solid map with multiple stages
Some say Clanbase likes to revive maps. Yet another revive then - karsiah_te2
supply the most "overplayed" map goes with..
C2 Missile b1 as the most underplayed then. We believe we can give possible the best feedback for map creators by adding the newest map. If eiM and xeoxis manage to create b2 before 1st matchweek, we may switch for newer version.

sp_delivery_te as the map which won 2 polls started on crossfire
radar as one of the obvious choices
sos secret weapon - new appearance in the mappool but also a well known map.
Maps will be forced, cointoss procedure will decide about decider map if needed. Clans will decide about maps on their own only in the Great Final of each league.
Detailed rules will be published on 29 June. After that we will publish playoff trees on 5 July. 12 July first matchweek starts. Season's deadline is 6 September.
As usual, we are requesting for active admins and decent writers. Please, apply only if you are going to give necessary support. Inactive admins will be removed.
Having in mind that several player(s) are involved in cheating accusations (i.e: netCoders customers or any cheat related issue), we would like to remind you that we do have the rights to reject the clan.

Alright map pool to be honest, I reckon instead of chosing this "C2 Missile b1" map you should have revived dubrovnik seeing as that is actually an epic map. Nice to see secret weapon and karsiah there too but as I just said, Dubrovnik (or maybe even Frost_comp_b2) would have been a better choice in my opinion :O)
The fresh mappool is a fucking awesome thing even though the maps themselves are bad. I rather play a bad (as long as it's not completely pointless) new map for a change than Supply for the 3000th time. You guys are oddly conservative.
Having said that, including karsiah_te is simply bad as it was already given a test period, and it failed miserably.
Looks nice, and I like the map pool, but I'd remove supply & delivery.
Would be nice to play again sw_fueldump, I loved that map and caen was also great.

To be honest I'd prefer testing snatch over it but karsiah is already somewhat known and its summercup, supposed to give a definite answer for some questions cause some needs them and to test maps to next EC/OC.

Ye, karsiah is so much better with impressive long range fights and a very long document run the axis can do something against as soon as they self killed once and a vote for a 6on6 competition map can be so wrong twice cause noone likes to play it. I don't know how you play delivery but it seems like you have no clue how to play it.
You can't use arty in supply upper stage but you can use it outside, you can't use arty on battery last stage but you can do it before and for delivery goes the same. You have a big area where you can fight, it's all about timing and teamplay on there, nothing lotto or unbalanced if you use the whole map and your brain.
Karsiah is no 6o6 map, delivery is and there have been better maps than karsiah ... many of them.

Delivery is definitly not as close as possible! Compare the maps, tell me which one is better than delivery and why instead of claiming you have brain.
so what you're saying is that in karsiah it's very easy to get the last docs with one a bit lucky nade? have you even played the map (meaning more than playing it once @ public) competitive? what I've experienced is full hold at flag once against decent clan, many full holds at the last stage etc. I apologize, I just prefer more skillwise maps just because I hate the luckfactor.

You just say exactly what I expected. You point artillery in last stage and noone can do shit there any longer. Compare the last stage to delivery, it is as close but with the possibility to point artillery and that's why you can fullhold in the last stage. Same goes for first stage with not enough ways to attack (1 short lower, 1 short upper and a very long way with 8 sec to pick out every attacker one by one).
Also in last stage, as soon as allies have the doc axis have to be out fast, getting raped, killed and you can't secured the docs anymore. Delivery offers much more space and that's why more people like it.

delivery is not balanced enough (simply said it had to many lotto aspects)
karsiah is just shit, you experimented with it before and it just failed, its not going to work out this time.
I'd rather see some other new maps instead of karsiah, like frost_comp, or even cathedral
on a serious note, lotto maps shouldn't be added in competition (delivery, adler etc..) while more balanced maps should (this is the reason sos isn't such a bad decision)
