The tendency of many chefs is to overload the menu with dishes, especially when there are hundreds from which to choose. However, chef August Churchill turns the compact small-plates menu at the Albany restaurant to his advantage, so heâs able to perfect each of the 20 items, which include quesadillas with mushrooms and epazote; roasted chanterelle mushroom tacos with pumpkin seeds; and classics such as tortilla soup. Owners Haig and Cindy Krikorian, who also own Lalimeâs, Sea Salt and T-Rex, have created a modern two-story interior with high loft ceilings.
