Buffalo Water Beer Bar is coming to the Milwaukee Public Market later this month. It will serve its own craft beer, a variety of Wisconsin brews and personal pizzas from Transfer Pizzeria Café.
Peter Gohsman, owner and operator of the venture, has a licensing agreement with Buffalo Water Beer Company to use the company's name and brand for the establishment.
Buffalo Water Beer Bar will be located directly in the center of the market, adjacent to Thief Wine Shop & Bar and The Green Kitchen. The 250-sq. ft. space is across from Rupena's Fine Foods and the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe.
"I see many synergies working well together in the market, and I believe Buffalo Water Beer Bar will integrate nicely into the neighborhood," noted Gohsman.
According to Gohsman, the bar's design will pay tribute to Milwaukee history as an internationally significant brewing city.
"The Buffalo Water brand and image fits nicely with what we have in mind."
Gohsman also said the bar will serve hot individual pizzas for lunch and dinner.
"Pizza and beer or pizza and wine, they are a natural combination. And we did not want to compete with items already available at the market," said Gohsman.
Transfer Pizzeria Café, 101 W. Mitchell St., will supply personal-sized, mini pizzas.
Craig Peterson, founder of Buffalo Water Beer Company, said in a news release that he was excited about the opportunity to publicize his beer and feature the brand at the Milwaukee Public Market.
His operations are at the corner of Buffalo and Water Street, one block away from the market, in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
