Dashboard Confessional to release both electric and acoustic versions of new album

No matter which version of Dashboard Confessional you like most (the old-school acoustic stuff or the full-band stuff), odds are that the band's upcoming full-length, Alter The Ending, will appeal to you. The band have revealed that the deluxe version of the album--which features the full band--will come with a bonus disc featuring all 12 songs performed acoustic.

Frontman Chris Carrabba had this to say: "Making an electric and acoustic version of an album was an idea we'd kicked around for a couple years. This record felt like the one to do it with. Most of my songs start out as acoustic songs anyway, so it wasn't real stretch. But to make it new, there was more of a 'bunch of guys around one mic' approach. Also, I'm not oblivious to the fact that no matter what we do, there are always those people who prefer us acoustic. Now they don't have to choose one or the other."

The deluxe version will also feature different artwork with a blue background instead of red for the standard. Both versions drop Nov. 12.
