19 December 2008 is the deadline for the entry to the Fringe Competition organized by "la Caixa" Social and Cultural Outreach Projects. The Fringe is an initiative open to young performers of early music. It seeks no only to foster young musicians who are launching their careers but also to enable the general public to enjoy early music, performed on historical instruments and following historical criteria, through more accessible initiatives. |

MASQUES is a Montreal-based early music ensemble founded in 1998, performing vocal and instrumental music of the 17th and 18th centuries. The name of the ensemble is inspired by the masques of the Elizabethan England—mystical performances which fused poetry, music, dance and drama.
