ANNUAL
APPEAL: Support for general programs
Film Forum’s operating expenses increase annually, while admissions
income remains consistent and is limited by seating capacity and ticket
prices. To offset deficits, we send an annual direct appeal for financial
support to current and past supporters.

Film Forum has nearly 5,000 members who support us by purchasing memberships
at levels between $75 and $2,500 annually. Each level affords a host

every screening, 365 days of the year, on all 3 screens – a

small is beautiful
While large donations are the ones that make headlines, it is the smaller contributions that are so crucial to maintaining day-to-day operations. With small is beautiful, your little gift of $10, $15, $25, or $50 can make a big impact on our bottom line. Since 2008 when we unveiled this campaign, 731 people have contributed over $27,000. Please support our small is beautiful campaign today and help FF continue to present the best in independent and classic cinema.

ENDOWMENT FUND
An endowment fund provides stability and income to ensure a nonprofit’s
future. Ours began in 2000 with an unsolicited challenge grant from the
Ford Foundation. Our goal is $6 million; we have raised nearly half.
The endowment’s earnings help to offset deficits
and pay annual operating costs. Funders at the $5,000 level & above
receive “South
of Houston,” a
signed limited-edition silkscreen created especially for FF by artist
Tom Slaughter.

Leaders in the entertainment and related industries recognize Film Forum’s

for distribution to staff and colleagues, as well as recognition in FF
materials.

DOCUMENTARY FUND
Film Forum’s Documentary Fund supports our presentation of the
best in independent documentaries. Note: it is NOT a grant-making
fund,
i.e. Film Forum does NOT fund documentary film production. Documentary
Fund donors make gifts of $5,000 & above. Supporters at the $10,000
level & above receive screen credit before each documentary presentation
(more than half of first-run films).
