Which tickets are not eligible to sell on the fan-to-fan marketplace?

The following are not eligible for either the fan-to-fan marketplace or donation: accessible seats, obstructed view seats, Nordic combined tickets, figure skating training tickets, Whistler-based events sold from October 24, 2009 onwards, Victory Ceremonies and some sessions for which regular Vancouver 2010 inventory is still available.

Will there be additional charges on tickets?

A fulfillment fee is applicable to each ticket and covers the cost of implementing the ticketing program and ensures that ticketed spectators will have access to local public transit on the day of their event. The fee is consistent with the administration or handling fee charged for tickets to other comparable events. All ticket purchases will be charged a one-time secure Purolator delivery fee of $10 (for accounts of $100 or less) or $20 (for accounts greater than $100) on each account.

Note: travel from Vancouver to Whistler or Cypress Mountain is not included in the fulfillment fee and must be purchased separately. For more information please see the Fees and Transportation FAQs.

How do I receive the tickets I purchased through the fan-to-fan marketplace?

Tickets purchased using the fan-to-fan marketplace can be picked up at the Main Ticket Centres in Whistler and downtown Vancouver or at venue box offices at Games time. If I use a park and ride service to access public transportation, does the fulfillment fee cover this service or do I have to also pay to park and ride?

The fulfillment fee ensures all ticketed spectators have access to public transportation, including park and ride service.

How do people with a disability request appropriate seats during the Locals’ Ticket Offer?

If you require accessible seating, please contact our Ticketing Call Centre at 1.800.TICKETS (1.800.842.5387). The TDD/TTY line is 604.629.7140. Make certain to tell the agent that you require accessible seating so the proper arrangements can be made. Accessible seating cannot be purchased online during the Locals’ Ticket Offer.

If I post my tickets in the fan-to-fan marketplace, are there limits or restrictions on the price I ask?

Posting your tickets in the fan-to-fan marketplace does not guarantee a sale. There is no limit to the price you post your tickets for. You may not post tickets for less than face value.  

How do I get the tickets I purchased during the Locals’ Ticket Offer?

As of November 26, tickets can be picked up at the Whistler Main Ticket Centre by the ticket account holder who must present a piece of government-issued photo ID. However, tickets must be picked up by December 31, 2009 in order to receive the two Whistler Victory Ceremony tickets (available while supplies last).

How do I register for an account?

Visit vancouver2010.com/tickets. On the right side of the page you will see a Register link where you can begin the registration process by entering your personal information and delivery address. Only accounts with addresses from Squamish to Mt. Currie may take part in the Locals’ Ticket offer. Registration must be completed prior to 7 pm (Pacific time) on October 23.

I already have a Vancouver 2010 ticketing account with a delivery address from Squamish to Mt. Currie. Can I use this account to purchase tickets during the Locals’ Ticket Offer?

Yes. If you have an existing account with a delivery address from Squamish to Mt. Currie then you should use that account during the Locals’ Ticket Offer.

What payment methods are accepted during the Locals’ Ticket Offer?

In recognition of Visa’s longstanding support of the Games, we are proud to acknowledge Visa as the only payment card accepted.

I have a secondary residence within the Squamish to Mt. Currie area. Can I register an account and purchase tickets?

Yes. You are welcome to use your secondary address when registering for an account but must have registered prior to 7 pm (Pacific time) on October 23. If you already have an account but the delivery address is not from within the Squamish to Mt. Currie region, you may change the delivery address of your account to that of your secondary residence.

What is the Locals’ Ticket Offer?

The Locals’ Ticket Offer is an opportunity for residents from Squamish to Mt. Currie to purchase Whistler-based Olympic tickets. In order to participate, the purchaser must have registered an account with a valid postal code prior to 7 pm Pacific time on October 23. Eligible account holders canthen access the Vancouver 2010 ticketing site to purchase tickets any time between 10 am (Pacific time) on October 24 and 5 pm (Pacific time) on October 25. Ticket purchases are processed in real-time on a first-come, first-served basis.

Important:

Tickets purchased during the Local’s Ticket Offer will not be able to access the Olympic bus network which provides Games-time transportation from Vancouver to Whistler.

Is transportation included for tickets purchased in auctions?

Fulfillment fees which provide the ticket holder with access to local public transit in Metro Vancouver or in Whistler on the date of the ticketed session are included with tickets purchased in auctions. All tickets sold to Cypress Mountain and Whistler-area venues will also include the cost of pre-booked transportation on the Olympic bus network.

Who are the recipients of donated tickets?

Donated tickets are distributed through the Celebrate 2010 program, which is designed to ensure thousands of people with limited financial means are able to share in the dream of attending Canada’s Games. Ticket recipients will include children and families, Aboriginal peoples and residents of Vancouver’s inner-city neighbourhoods.

The Organizing Committee is currently working with a range of community implementation partners including BC Housing, the BC Non-Profit Housing Association, the Four Host First Nations Secretariat and various Spirit of BC Committees supported by 2010 Legacies Now to distribute the Celebrate 2010 tickets.
