Who?

Canadian Residents
All Canadian residents, regardless of citizenship, are eligible to purchase tickets for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Outside Canada — International Ticket Sales
Those living outside Canada, regardless of citizenship, can purchase tickets through any of the following options:

The fan-to-fan marketplace — purchase official tickets from other Vancouver 2010 fans at vancouver2010.com/tickets.
Official ticket auctions — bid on some the best seats in the house on vancouver2010.com/tickets.
Through the official ticket agent for your National Olympic Committee (NOC). For example, US residents (including Canadian citizens living in the US) must purchase tickets to the 2010 Winter Games through CoSport, an affiliate company of Jet Set Sports, the official ticket sales agent of the US Olympic Committee (USOC).

Persons with Disabilities
VANOC is committed to providing accessible venues and services for both the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and extends a warm welcome to spectators with disabilities. All venues have been reviewed for accessibility. This includes consideration for persons who are blind or visually impaired, persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and persons with mobility and/or agility impairments.

Make certain to tell the agent that you require accessible seating so the proper arrangements can be made. Accessible seating cannot be purchased through vancouver2010.com at Games time.

How?

Online:
At Games time, Canadian residents as well as residents from abroad can create a secure online account at vancouver2010.com where ticket purchases are processed in real time on a first-come, first-served basis. Canadian residents who participated in an earlier Phase can sign in using their existing account to purchase tickets.
By phone:
At Games time, all Canadian residents can call 1.800.TICKETS (1.800.842.5387) and speak to an agent who will be happy to process ticket purchases in real time on a first-come, first-served basis. Callers from outside of Canada can call 1-925-798-8100. See Vancouver 2010 Ticketing Call Centre hours.
In person:
All 2010 Olympic Winter Games venue box offices will open on the first day of competition at each venue. Main Ticket Centres in Whistler and downtown Vancouver are now open. See Vancouver 2010 Ticketing Call Centre hours.

Please Note: Aside from vancouver2010.com or an official Vancouver 2010 Partner, any individual or group claiming to sell 2010 Olympic Winter Games tickets is making that claim falsely. Buyers should be aware that tickets bought from an unauthorized source may not be valid and may not be accepted for entry to 2010 Winter Games venues.

Olympic Winter Games

When?

Tickets to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games are sold in four phases. Every step of the ticket program is designed to be simple, fair and accessible for any Canadian resident who is interested in attending the Games.

Phase 1	October 3 – December 22, 2008
Request Period	October 3 – November 7, 2008: Canadian residents were able to create a private and secure account at vancouver2010.com where they built an Olympic experience by searching for and selecting events or packages. The requests had to be submitted by November 7, 2008, the end of the request period, to be considered.
Lottery	November 24 – 28, 2008: In cases where ticket demand exceeded the available supply, our official supplier of ticketing services, Tickets.com, used an automated random selection process (lottery) to ensure the fairest possible ticket distribution on a session-by-session basis (for example, each session you requested, if oversubscribed, was subject to a lottery).
Notification Period	By December 10, 2008: All applicants were notified via e-mail regarding the status of their request and which sessions and/or packages they secured. Seat locations will be confirmed in late 2009.
Priority Access Period	December 12–22, 2008: Any tickets not purchased during the initial Request Period were re-released for sale exclusively to Canadian residents who submitted a request during the Request Period. Tickets were available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paralympic Tickets: May 6–July 31, 2009
The Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games run from March 12 to 21, 2010. Tickets for the 10 days of the X Paralympic Games first went on sale May 6, 2009 at vancouver2010.com. Be sure to include Paralympic events when planning your Winter Games experience!

Phase 2

June 6–July 31, 2009

Tickets remaining after Phase 1 went on sale to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Canadian residents who missed the initial request period could purchase tickets directly through vancouver2010.com or by calling the Vancouver 2010 Ticketing Call Centre at 1.800.TICKETS (1.800.842.5387).

Seat Assignment Period

Summer 2009
Ticket sales closed for a period of time once venue seating configurations were finalized. Later in the fall of 2009, ticket holders could log in to their online ticket accounts to view the specific seat locations that they had been assigned. Seat locations were assigned for all tickets purchased until this point, based on the following:

Tickets purchased during Phase 1 were assigned seats prior to those purchased in Phase 2, however seat locations were randomly assigned within each price category by the ticketing system.
Tickets purchased at the same time will be assigned together and best efforts were made to seat all tickets in an account together. For example, if you purchased four tickets to a women’s ice hockey session in Phase 1, those four tickets were seated together. If you then purchased another four tickets to the same event in Phase 2, every effort was made to seat them with the tickets purchased in Phase 1.

Phase 3

November 14, 2009

Ticket sales re-opened when the seat assignment period ended. Tickets purchased at this time were sold in real time, and directly into available seat locations.

Phase 4

February 12–28, 2010

Games Time!

All 2010 Olympic Winter Games venue box offices will open on the first day of competition at each venue. Main boxes offices in Whistler and downtown Vancouver are now open. Available tickets can also be purchased through vancouver2010.com or by calling the Vancouver 2010 Ticketing Call Centre at 1.800.TICKETS (1.800.842.5387).
