‘Yo Gabba Gabba!’ is hit with adults
Forget about Barney and the Teletubbies. Not since “Sesame Street” has a kids TV show had the mass appeal enjoyed by DJ Lance Rock and the crew of monsters of “Yo Gabba Gabba!” The Nickelodeon show debuted about three years ago, and though it targets the 3- to 5-year-old set, fans include Brad Pitt, Jack Black, Tony Hawk and a host of adult hipsters and hip-hoppers.

What to watch this week | May 30-June 5
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND KCPT has the usual highlights, including the annual “Celebration at the Station” airing live at 7:30 tonight, followed by the “National Memorial Day Concert” at 10, followed by a repeat of “Celebration” at 11:30. In addition, “Hallowed Grounds” (9 p.m. Monday, KCPT) visits 22 of America’s overseas cemeteries and tells the stories of some of the women and men buried there.

Once again, it looks like a downsized summer of Kansas City jazz. You want a big outdoor jazz or blues festival? There’s Jazz in the Woods in Overland Park, come June 11-12. There’s the Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest on June 11-12; the Parkville River Jam on June 18-19; and the Kansas City, Kan., Street Blues Festival on June 25-26. And looking southeast, Lee’s Summit promises a Jazz and Blues Festival on Aug. 6.
