KC to start work today on new bridge over Brush Creek

After years of delay, Kansas City will start work today on a new bridge over Brush Creek, which could disrupt commuting for thousands of drivers and bus riders. Officials will break ground on a Troost Avenue span intended to provide what has been described as an urban riverwalk appeal.

The controversy surrounding British medical researcher Andrew Wakefield is an instructive one for this era of information overload. More than a decade ago, Wakefield authored a research paper published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet that sought to establish a connection between autism and the administration of the most common of childhood vaccines.
