The Shirtless Men of the World Cup

World Cup fever is sweeping the States, and unlike in most other sports, when a game's done, the men — and even some of the female fans — take off their clothes.

With the United States facing off against Ghana in a second-round World Cup matchup Saturday, the game could be the most watched since the USA’s 1994 World Cup loss to Brazil.

Soccer fever is sweeping the country — even former president Bill Clinton is addicted, heading to Pretoria, South Africa, for Wednesday’s game, and changing his itinerary so he could stick around for Ghana. And unlike most other athletes, soccer stars from around the world seem to be really in touch with their fans, the bodies — even each other.

Check out some of The Advocate’s favorite photos from the 2010 World Cup — including some fans who’ve stripped down to get into the spirit.

Its not the ONLY way that gay men will talk about the game, but it is a really fun way to talk about it. Football(soccer in the US) is a fast and exciting sport and I believe it is about to finally take over the hearts and minds of Americans-both straight AND gay. I love the fact that these gorgeous athletes like to show off while they cool off.

(didn't get to finish my last post) We can still have sexy pictures, but we can show "the world" we are of "substance" as well. I know the "straight" world does the same thing...sex, sex, sex...but we don't have to stoop down to their level. I don't want my neighbor to think that I am stripping him down (in my mind) just because... (unless he is Sean Astin...LOL) But anyway....this is my opinion, I'm allowed to it..
