Playgirl's Ronnie Kroell Asks for “Lens of Integration”

RONNIE KROELL X390 (BRAVO COURTESY)

Playgirl cover model Ronnie Kroell asks for Americans to view the world through a “lens of integration, not separation” in an editorial published on The Huffington Post.

Kroell, who was also runner-up on the reality series Make Me a Supermodel, has toured the United States during the past month, making appearances at Pride events across the country.

“I saw so many beautiful families (my own included) often several generations of families together (often with a dog or two in rainbow garb!) celebrating time with one another and simply wanting what all families want: the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness,” Kroell writes.

“Sadly, these fundamental rights remain an elusive dream for myself and countless others that identify with the LGBTQA Community, but I am confident that the LGBTQA Equal Rights Movement will soon know the same success of the Woman's Liberation & African American Civil Rights Movements that have prevailed before it.”

LGBTQIA is a fairly common acronym. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersexed, Allies. I like it.

"LGBTQA" is a ridiculous acronym. The equality movement does not represent all those different groups, and some of the groups it does represent aren't served well by its activism. What's more, the group represented by "Q" is non-existent. There is no such thing as queer human beings.

@Bob While I admit non-Whites within the gay community are more prone to not be racist as your comment implies, there are a great many non-Whites who are racist, ageist, cynics, etc. But I must also admit, that if I seem to be attacking Whites more by my comments, it is because the reason why non-Whites are showing racism is because it is mostly Whites who are in power in a great many forms of gay media, and many of those White in charge started the separatism within our community, while non-White were striving for unity. In short, some (not all) of the non-Whites who are racist became that way out of the backlash of the Whites in power making non-Whites not feel they are good enough to be acknowledged. This by no means excused non-Whites of being racist. I am just pointing out the factsn of our community.

@ Tre, who's us? The only racist, sexist, ageist people in the gay community are white.

To those who backed me up, I give a WHOLE-HEARTED THANKS for your support. Now @Jonathon and @Stanley, There is no cynicism in what I say. Only a harsh TRUTH that neither of you want to face. The fact is this: HOW CAN WE ASK THE AMERICAN PUBLIC OVERALL TO ACCEPT US, WHEN IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING OF EACH OTHER IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY? Simple answer is....WE CAN'T. Until the LGBT community fixes the problems that makes us our own worst enemy like racism, ageism, and other "-isms" that are committed more so amongst gays than in the straight community (making the LGBT community behind the times), WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO ASK A DAMN THING OF AMERICA AS A WHOLE!!!!! And the problem is I have yet to hear Ronnie or any other White gay activists make a plight to the gay community to get its act together BEFORE asking America to accept us. If he has made such a plight, POINT IT OUT TO ME! I AM WAITING!!!!

@Stanley, nothing was twisted. It's just a different perception of Kroell's words. Why is it considered "negative" for Tre and Bob to point out the hypocrisy of Kroell's words? Are you angry because they touch a nerve with you? And Johnathan, your attempt to criticize Tre and shut him up only goes to show what Tre is referring to - the way facist white gays try and conceal the dirty laundry of the GLBT community. Instead of shushing him, maybe you should consider acknowledging his points and speaking to him like he's a competent adult instead of condescending to him like he's a child. Or are you channeling the unmistakable virtues of your colonial ancestry on the message boards?

@ Bob and @ Tre I thinks you guys are the cynics. You have twisted Kroell's observations into something negative.

Oh yeah, there's no such thing as a "LGBTQA Equal Rights Movement" it died in the '70's.

Johnathan, Tre was pointing out Kroell's cynicism for asking people of different races to stop segregating gay and straight people, when gay people openly discriminate against people of color who are gay.
