Undergraduate Degree Programmes

The School of Psychology runs two degree programmes, both of which culminate in the award of a BSc in Psychology.

The School of Psychology offers two routes to a BSc Honours Degree in Psychology.  These have a common second and third year, and are accredited by the British Psychological Society as conferring the Graduate Basis for Registration.  This allows you to go on to postgraduate training in clinical and other applied areas.

Both degree programmes are designed to exploit the wide range of exciting opportunities in fundamental and applied psychology which are provided by our large and well-resourced research department based in a major city.  As our graduate employment record shows, these programs provide an excellent foundation for careers in psychology as well as many other professions.

The two single honours degrees are:

More information about the kind of course you would be joining if you came to Liverpool, and about our admissions procedures can be found here.  Full details of all the current modules listed in the programme structres for C800 and C801 can be found here and programme specifications can be found here.

Year abroad

The School allows you to spend part of your programme studying in an overseas university, if you wish.  We participate in the Erasmus/Socrates Programme run by the European Union.  This provides some financial support for studying in one of our partner European institutions and, if you are abroad for a full year, your fees are waived.  Liverpool also has links with a number of North American universities.  Appropriate modules taken abroad will count towards your Liverpool degree.

Combined Honours

There are also psychology pathways which have been accredited by the British Psychological Society as conferring the Graduate Basis for Registration in the University’s three Combined Honours Schools.  These allow you to pair psychology with another subject from the Faculties of Science, Social and Environmental Studies or Arts.

International Students

Liverpool University, like Liverpool itself, has always had strong overseas links and welcomes international students.  There are a number of scholarships and bursaries available to help with fees and living costs.
