In-Stat’s syndicated research practices and
In-Stat Consulting make extensive use of
In-Stat’s Primary Research Group. In-Stat regularly conducts custom primary research projects for our clients. Our primary research capabilities provide a valuable supplement to our syndicated research and consulting capabilities.
In-Stat's Primary Research Group can support clients who seek a deeper understanding of end-user markets and drivers than that provided by our syndicated services.
In-Stat specializes in delivering insight based on primary research collected through Web-based and telephone interviews. In-Stat's ability to combine primary research with the deep, industry-specific knowledge of our analysts differentiates us from our competitors.
In-Stat’s Primary Research Director has over ten years experience directing, managing and executing consumer and business survey research across multiple sectors both domestically and internationally. He oversees In-Stat’s dedicated primary research team in the execution of end-user survey research for both consumer and business markets, including development of complex research methodologies and sampling plans, questionnaire development, project management, data analysis and presentation to clients.
Methodologies
In-Stat primarily uses two methodologies when collecting primary data:
1. Web-based interviews
Internet or Web-based interview techniques have become a highly-effective and widely-accepted method for collecting primary data. In-Stat programs and hosts questionnaires that include sophisticated features such as list randomization and rotation, complex branching, as well as customized validation and error checking. A key component of our Web-based research capability is our access to multiple research panels, including our own Technology Adoption Panel™, a panel of technology users and decision-makers interested in contributing their opinions and insights about technology usage and technology issues in the workplace. In-Stat also leverages our growing team of analysts in Asia and elsewhere to conduct truly international primary research efforts.
2. Structured telephone interviews
In both business-to-business and consumer research, one of the best ways to collect primary data is through structured telephone interviews. In-Stat partners with our clients to develop questionnaires that are clear, concise, and provide meaningful data from qualified respondents. In-Stat regularly conducts telephone studies that range in size from 50 to more than 1,000 completed interviews.
