Sukhoi Company took part in the fifth international Latin-American aerospace and defence exhibition and conference LAAD 2005, which took take place between 26th and 29th April this year at the Riocenter exhibition centre not far from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

LAAD is the Latin America's major international forum for weapons and military equipment for all branches of the armed forces and security agencies. The last exhibition in April 2003 was attended by over 40 official foreign delegations, with 250 firms from 51 countries presenting their products. This year, Sukhoi wanted to showcase all areas of the holding's activities, including military and civilian products, upgrading and logistical support.

The Sukhoi exhibit, set up as part of a single Russian display at the trade show, presented the Su-27SKM aeroplane model made by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association, a member of the Sukhoi Holding, as well as promotional information handouts on the Su-marque series of combat aircraft, the Su-80GP cargo-passenger aeroplane for commuter and regional lines and the amphibian aeroplane Be-103.

The Company's exposition at the LAAD-2005 international exhibition demonstrated the varied nature of its activities, its high R&D; and production potential, its willingness to continue cooperation with Brazilian partners either under the F-X BR programme or in other areas of military and civil aircraft.

A number of countries in Latin America showed interest in military and civil technology produced by Sukhoi.
