OSXFAQ Daily Unix Tricks
Week 58 - Editing Tips (13 October 2003)
by
Adrian Mayo - Senior Editor for Mac OS X Unix
Wednesday - Less (and More) Edits
If you view a file with 'less', then decide you wish to edit that file, just hit 'v'. This will take you into the 'vi' editor, pre-loaded with the file you were viewing.
If 'vi' is not to your taste, set the environment variable VISUAL to define which editor will be used.
% setenv VISUAL vim
