MDN information

The Mainichi Daily News (MDN) began offering paid content on Amazon's e-reader Kindle in December 2009, and has been contributing articles to the English-language version of photoJ., a paid digital photo magazine for Apple Inc's iPad, since the spring of 2010. In addition, monthly subscriptions to the Sony Reader edition of the MDN became available in the U.S. on Dec. 7, 2010, and we are currently in the process of reviewing other ways to provide paid services to our readers.

In line with our shifting efforts toward providing content-rich paid services, with the exception of "Perspectives" articles, distribution of MDN articles through RSS feeds and Twitter will be discontinued as of January 12, 2011.

MDN's web edition will continue to provide free content to our readers as it has in the past, but please be informed that the content available for free on our website and the content available through our paid services differ slightly.
