The rise of Bhaktapur On their journey through Nepal in February 2011 Bundestag members Dagmar Wöhrl and Karin Roth were convinced by the sustainability of GIZ projects there. ‘We are very impressed with the work of GIZ’, said Wöhrl during a tour of an urban development project in Bhaktapur that was concluded in 1986. ‘Even today, the region’s population continues to see the benefits.’

Loans have now become affordable for small and medium-sized enterprises. This is extremely relevant for the economy as 98% of all Mongolian companies are classed as small or medium-sized enterprises.
