The WISE Patrons are key individuals within the STEM community who have actively promoted our cause and continue paving the way and encouraging more girls into STEM.

 

HRH, The Princess Royal

Royal Patron of WISE

The Princess Royal  is involved with over 200 charities and organisations in an official capacity, both in the UK and overseas.  In addition to WISE, these include Save the Children, The      Princess Royal Trust of Carers, St John Ambulance,and the International Olympic Committee.   

Baroness Platt of Writtle CBE

Founder of WISE

Baroness Platt was made a life peer  in 1981 and is a member of the House of Lords.  She is the Founding Chair of WISE and a role model to all girls who are thinking of following a career in engineering. 

 

Kate Bellingham

Patron of WISE

Kate Bellingham is an engineer and TV Presenter.  She was a BBC radio  engineer before becoming a regular  host on Tomorrow's World.  More recently she has been involved in the BBC documentary series, Museum of Life.

 

Professor Dame Julia Higgins DBE FRS F

Patron of WISE

Professor Dame Julia  Higgins is Senior Research Investigator in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College, London

Dr Joanna Kennedy OBE FREng

Patron of WISE     

Dr Joanna Kennedy is a Director of Arup, one of the UK’s largest firms of
consulting engineers.
