Programme of Entrepreneurship culture promotion - Principality of Asturias - Spain 

The Minister of Industry and Employment, Graciano Torre, received the Bertelsmann Foundation Prize from the hands of King Don Juan Carlos in Madrid this morning. This prize honours the Asturian Government for promoting enterprise culture among young people, and strengthening and highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit of young people and their role in society through Valnalón and the "Chain of entrepreneurial training" This was included in the programme for the promotion of enterprise culture as one of the axes of the social dialogue agreement signed by the Government of the Principality of Asturias and social intermediaries.

As a prize, Valnalón will receive expert consultancy from Caja Navarra for a year, valued at 25,000 Euros, to optimize the activities that take place to promote entrepreneurial culture.

The Bertelsmann Foundation launched the prize for the culture of entrepreneurship among young people for the first time this year seeking to promote youth entrepreneurship in Spain and supporting initiatives to create social institutions that are helping youth to build a more just and charitable society. Among the criteria that the jury assessed the role of young people in the Valnalón educational project was singled out for distinction; the attention the project pays to the social needs of the territory; the original and innovative approach when responding to identified needs; and the involvement of the different social bodies of the community in which it develops, as well as the social impact and the ability to be transferred and replicated in other contexts.
