My Morning Jacket

My Morning Jacket bit into "The Vampire Diaries" on Thursday night.

The rock act performed "Circuital" track "You Wanna Freak Out" on the supernatural CW show, dressed appropriately in black suits.

The group's performance comes at a backyard party that winds up being a wake. But despite the underworld overtones, the band appears to have had a good time on the set.

"All of the vampires and werewolves we met on the set of 'The Vampire Diaries' were nice regular folks just like most of us - good upstanding citizens, but forced to live with this secret tragic double-life dilemma," frontman Jim James told Rolling Stone of My Morning Jacket's visit to the show. "They treated us most fairly and with dignity and respect, as they sucked out bodily fluids dry and smothered us in sexy kisses. God bless them. God bless them all."

Studio versions of "Circuital" tracks "Holdin' On To Black Metal" and "First Light" also appeared in the episode. The album has been the group's best chart showing yet, bowing at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 upon its May release.
