Prof Colm O'Gorman

Colm O’Gorman is Professor of Entrepreneurship at DCU Business School. He studies entrepreneurship and industrial policy in Ireland. He is co-author of the annual Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report for Ireland. The results of this research are used by the National Competitiveness Council to measure Ireland’s competitive position. In his research he has also explored the emergence of high-tech firms in the context of cluster dynamics, including a study of the factors that lead to the rapid emergence of the software industry in Ireland during the 1990s (National Economic and Social Council). He has completed several European Union funded research projects. His research has been published in leading international peer-reviewed academic journals. He has also co-authored a textbook and a number of award winning teaching cases studies on entrepreneurship.
