Yovani Gallardo arrested for DUI

According to multiple reports, Milwaukee Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Gallardo, 27, was ticketed for being a first-time offender but was also arrested due to Milwaukee County Sheriff policy.

Gallardo's blood-alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit.

The Brewers released a statement later Tuesday morning: "We have been made aware of the situation with Yovani and we take this matter very seriously. We have expressed our disappointment to him and know he understands that behavior of this nature is of great concern to everyone in the organization. Yovani has acknowledged the seriousness of this incident and is taking full accountability for his actions."

Sentinel Journal story has him stating he was coming home from drinking at Leff's Lucky Town. I figured the days of high-ish profile athletes hanging out at local bars was long gone. I'm sure any second now (probably already happening) all the cell phone shots and video of him will hit the web.

Really? Just shows you the commitment he has to the team and the fans....he got caught this time...I wonder how many times he got drunk and drove home in the past. And what's with Wisconsin's drunk driving laws?...what a joke....it needs to be much stricter....Gallardo should be suspended a few games. McLaughlin said Gallardo -- who has no prior criminal record -- will not face jail time but will receive citations of $300 for operating while intoxicated -- first offense, with an extra $300 because of the level of intoxication and $178.80 for lane deviation.
