I have had a couple of nice larger diagonal cutters for awhile, but I've been wanting something to work on small electrical projects, and these are great. They feel great in your hand and cut solid copper with no problem. I've cut up to 10 gauge solid copper with ease and I use them all the time to trim guitar strings and they've been doing a great job with no signs of wear for the past couple of years.

If you're looking for a smaller diagonal cutter I would highly recommend these.

I was looking for a very sturdy well made set of flush cut diagonal cutters and I certainly found them with these! I think these are definitely worth the premium over the other competing products, they are very well made and should last quite a long time. I've been using them to trip leads from capacitors and resistors as well as cutting wire ties in my computer cases, they cut extremely easy and require very little pressure. If you need a small set of flush cut diagonals that will list a long time, these are the ones you are looking for.

Pros: works great; ergonomic palm-sized so perfect size to get into small places plus my hands don't hurt the next day; points are not sharp enough to gouge wires or humans but cuts well on the blade - these are cutters not snips and I like that

Cons: none at all; well...they are more expensive than some, but the value makes up for the cost; cheap tools are bad news

Other: highly recommend to anyone who must constantly cut zip-ties and wires inside enclosed spaces

This is the right tool if you need to cut wires flush or extreemly close. I use this on the EZ-RJ45 Cat6 or RJ45 modular plugs with inserts. These need to be cut off completely flush to work best. It also works great for clipping wires in tight spaces. I am making patch cables for a home network. I have 21 patch cables not including room patch cables. So I don't have to buy 500 or 1000 feet of stranded Cat 6 cable I bought a 100 foot patch cord for about $10 and cut it up. I have plenty of solid wire cable but it does not work well with cables that are moved and stressed a lot, especially around the connectors.

Ok for the price. not really impressed with the craftsmanship: 2 sides of cutting edge are different in size, you can tell one side is wider by first look; able to see 2mm long slit along the tip...

Just the right combination of power, durability, and size. I use this for all of my electronics wire cutting, and it has worked very well indeed. Probably won't cut a chain-link fence, but it's very tough for any electronics project. The spring loading is perfect also. Very nice item.

I returned the pliers to amazon as they stopped cutting after about 10 cuts.

As a mechanic I know you need to have the right tool for the job. I got the Irwin pliers to cut .020 stainless steel annealed wire which does not damage the blades on any of the small pliers that I have.

After ten cuts I had to hold the Irwin pliers closed and bend the wire before it will cut. I was thrilled with them until they stopped working. They are made in China.

I now use Xuron 2175 Maxi Shear Flush Cutter as Xuron makes quality tools that last and work the same from the first cut on. I use the Xuron regularly and they still work just as good as the first cut. Xuron is made in the US and has a lifetime warranty.

I use these on countless 14-22 AWG wires on a daily basis, and they are still sharp after heavy use for the past few months. These are excellent for the price, and the stiff rubber contoured grips have not gotten loose like many other more expensive flush cutters I have used in the past. Stellar handle design, and good durability of the steel... and easy to spot in my tool box with the bright yellow/blue handles. They can't be indestructible, but whenever they wear out I will be buying another one of these for sure.

I use these dikes to trim my super tuff toe nails. It works great. I use Irwin tools every day at work and they are very good tools.

I have had a pair of these for about 5 years now and I love them. I have a handful of other diagonal cutters but when I can't find this one it drives me crazy. Today the spring broke so I was forced to buy another pair. I love them so much I bought two of them. For small jobs you can't go wrong.
