The Brewers will host Cerveceros Day at Miller Park on June 2.

Brewers announce "Cerveceros Day" details

The Milwaukee Brewers have announced details for the seventh annual Cerveceros Day events at Miller Park, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 2 as the Brewers take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at 6:10 pm.

Cerveceros Day is hosted in conjunction with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin. On June 2, the Brewers will take the field in jerseys with the traditional "Brewers" script replaced by the Spanish language translation "Cerveceros." The Pirates will also participate and wear uniforms that read "Piratas."

The event coincides with the HCCW's 26th annual "Fiesta Tailgate," and the ballpark will take on a Latin flair all day with bilingual PA announcements and scoreboard features, mariachi bands and much more.

Additionally, the Brewers along with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin will honor Carmen Rivas as the recipient of the 2012 HCCW Cerveceros Legacy Award.

Rivas has been involved in Milwaukee area youth sports for 24 years while working with the Milwaukee Public Schools' Department of Recreation. She has also worked with the Girls of Summer Softball League, a fourth through sixth grade program, which started in 2000.

Brewers Community Foundation will auction off the commemorative "Cerveceros" uniforms worn by the players and coaches. The online auction at brewers.com begins on Wednesday, June 6 at 9 a.m. and concludes on Wednesday, June 20 at 5 p.m.

The money raised will go directly to Brewers Community Foundation and will be earmarked for the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin Scholarship Fund and the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee Scholarship Fund.
