About Gorillas Online
"Gorillas Online" covers a wide variety of information about gorilla behavior, reproduction, and natural
history. The site is richly illustrated with original photographs of gorillas from zoos and the wild.
The "Gorillas" site was launched by on the World Wide Web on April 1, 1996 and is intended for the education
and enjoyment of the Internet community. People interested in using images from this site may contact Tim Knight
() for written permission.
I plan on adding more information and photographs in the future as time allows. This is a volunteer
project that receives no outside funding, so it will take a while for the site to develop.
Please return often to see new developments and more exciting gorilla information and images.
I welcome your comments regarding the design and content of this Web site.
Sincerely,
Tim Knight
Webmaster
Acknowledgments
A few people have provided information and images to "Gorillas Online" and I
thank them for their generous contributions. I especially to want to thank
A. H. Harcourt, a leading primatologist, for contributing information on recent population estimates, updates for the
natural history section, and a long list of gorilla references. Jim Henley and James Mason
kindly supplied digital images of gorillas that are included in the Gorilla Gallery. Debbie Bloom and Eleanor Nalle
provided some excellent photos of mountain gorillas from the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Tiso, an excellent artist, created the six original primate paintings that are also found in the gorilla
images section of this site.
