OPINION – September 7, 2006: In his column on these pages, We need to talk straight about same-sex marriage (September 1), Patekile Holomisa stated that “the Constitutional Assembly, which drafted and adopted the constitution, never contemplated that the provision of unfair discrimination against homosexuals would ever be construed as endorsing same-sex marriages”. It seems that there is very little understanding of what the constitution of SA means to South African citizens.

August 23, 2006: A journalist is neither homosexual or heterosexual, rich or poor nor white or black. Journos are always neutral or rather invent to call themselves hemosexuals(1), ripo(2) or whibla(3) when coming to reporting.

At least there’s progress in the struggle for the minorities this women’s month, and eventually will be success. Lest people wonder why progress while still with spate of arrests in other parts of Africa (as in Uganda recently as mentioned in Red Pepper Newspaper in that country), I reiterate that there’s at least progress and in parts victory.
