I. Shipping

1. Harry/Ginny must be the main pairing in your story. Written with a Quill, Sealed with a Kiss (Quill and Kiss) is a Harry/Ginny fan fiction archive, thus we will only allow H/G stories. You can include other pairings as long as H/G takes the main role. H/G must not be contradicted and must end up together.

2. Stories that feature other ships as the primary pairing, even if H/G appears as a secondary ship, will be rejected. H/G must be the primary ship in all stories.

II. Story Content

1. Quill and Kiss does not accept stories that deal with the following:
- rape
- bestiality
- incest
- necrophilia
- student/teacher relationship
- slash
- sexual situations

2. Because of the growing number of anti-H/G stories, fan fictions that have either Harry or Ginny dead will be rejected.

3. Obscenities that are sparingly used are allowed but are strongly discouraged. They should be not more than one percent (1%) of the total word count of the story. Any more than the allowed number of obscenities will mean automatic rejection of the story. Fan fictions that contain obscenities should have a rating of M (see Rating). Stories with lower ratings should not contain any obscenities.

4.All stories should meet the basic standards of grammar, punctuation, spelling, characterization, and structure. Those who don't meet these requirements will be automatically rejected.

5. Those written using netspeak will be also rejected.

6. Stories must be written to fit in with canon. We expect that all writers exhibit a comprehensive understanding of canon and its characters.

7. Stories with no original plot will also be rejected.

8. Quill and Kiss does not accept stories that graphically describe sexual situations that merit an A (Adult) rating (see Rating). All A stories will be automatically rejected but can be posted in H/G Forever's closed LJ community. Adult members still need to apply first to be able to access this community.

III. Story Approval

1. All submitted stories will be subjected to the approval of the Quill and Kiss Administrators. Fic approval is solely based on their discretion and can be highly subjective; they can reject stories that they don't deem fit for the site. 2. Only the first chapter of a multi-chaptered fic should be submitted for approval. Spamming the validation queue with the fic's subsequent chapters will mean automatic rejection of the story. Authors can submit the subsequent chapters once they have their assigned beta reader.

3. Quill and Kiss only accepts stories from authors who are at least 13 years old. If you are less than 13 years of age, please do not post or submit your stories here.

4. Each story/chapter should be at least 1,000 words. This excludes the summary and author's notes.

5. Stories with constant grammatical errors will be automatically rejected. Those written in netspeak will also be rejected.

IV. Beta Reading

1. All approved stories will be beta read by Quill and Kiss's official beta readers. They are people who volunteer to help maintain the quality of fan fictions archived at Quill and Kiss out of their love for writing, fan fiction, and Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley.

2.All authors agree that all their submissions will undergo a formal beta reading process before they can be posted at the site. On their first submission, a beta reader will be assigned to them and they should work with the same beta reader in all their subsequent submissions.

3. Authors should respond to the communications sent by their Quill and Kiss beta reader. If the authors do not send a reply three weeks after the beta have sent an email, their story will be deleted from the validation queue. They may resubmit their fic at a later time when they have the time to work with their stories.

V. HGF Challenge Entries

1. HGF challenge entries will not go through the archive's formal beta reading process but they should have gone through beta reading by the author's beta (not necessarily Quill and Kiss's beta readers). Same Submission Policies still apply in approval of challenge entries.

2. Quill and Kiss Administrators can still reject challenge entries if they do not adhere to the Submission Policies (e.g. rating, ship preference, grammar, etc). They can be resubmitted once the authors made sure that the Submission Policies have been met.

VI. Story Categories

1. All stories should be posted under their proper categories. The main categories are as follows:

Pre-HBP - any story that is finished or still in progress before Book 6 came out but does not fit with the current canon
Post-HBP - any story that is finished or still in progress after Book 6 came out, which fits with the current canon
AU - any story that does not fit with the current canon
HGF Specials - any story submitted for the HGF fan fiction challenges

2. All four main categories are divided into three categories according to language:

The Golden Quill - all stories written in English
Ginintuang Pluma - all stories written in Filipino
La Pluma Dorada - all stories written in Spanish

VII. Rating

1. Quill and Kiss uses the following rating for all stories. The rating is similar but not the same with the MPAA Ratings

E (Everyone) - MPAA rated "G." Suitable for all ages
K (Kids) - MPAA rated "PG." Not suitable for children under 10.
T (Teens) - MPAA rated "PG-13." Not suitable for children under 13.
M (Mature) - MPAA rated "R." Not suitable for children under 16.
A (Adult) - MPAA rated "NC-17." Strictly for the HGF LJ community
2. Story titles and summaries must be rated E for all audiences.

3. Warnings for violence, sexual content (but only of slight nature), and language must be indicated in the "Warnings."

4. Quill and Kiss Administrators can change the story's rating if they deem necessary.

VIII. Plagiarism

1. Quill and Kiss will not tolerate any kind of plagiarism. Any plagiarized story will be automatically deleted from the site. The author will be given a warning on the first offense. If the author commits another act of plagiarism for the second time, his/her account will be deleted from the site without further warning.

2. If you see any plagiarized work, report it to the Quill and Kiss Administrators immediately.

IX. Change of Policies

These guidelines and policies are in effect immediately. The Quill and Kiss Administrators reserve the right to change these policies without notice. If there are any complaints, comments, or questions, contact Bluemagic, GilyAnn, or Alcarcalime.
