Addicks unchanged at Hull

Alan Pardew has named an unchanged starting XI for the third Championship match in a row.

The Addicks boss has kept faith with the same team that beat Norwich City and Leicester City at The Valley and drew 1-1 at Coventry City on Saturday as Charlton look to extend their unbeaten run to seven league games.

There is one alteration on the bench however, with Jerome Thomas returning to the matchday squad for the first time since the 2-2 draw at Colchester United on September 15th.

Matt Holland is the man to make way for the winger, while Darren Ambrose will sit out a second successive Championship fixture after pulling a hamstring in the Carling Cup defeat at Luton Town.

Meanwhile, Hull City were set to be without four first-team players after a mystery bug swept through the club, but three of those reported to have gone down ill are on the teamsheet.

Six youth players were affected after Saturday`s 3-1 win over Ipswich Town but following a training session on Monday, another four first-team personnel were thought to have been affected.

The Hull Daily Mail reported that the club had shut its training ground for the time being to ensure the mystery illness did not spread further.

But club captain Ian Ashbee, Richard Garcia and reserve goalkeeper Matt Duke have all made the Tigers squad.

Michael Bridges was the fourth player said to have caught the bug, although he was never likely to play having been told at the weekend his Hull future was over.

In fact, Phil Brown has made only one change to the XI which beat the Tractor Boys at the weekend, with former Addicks midfielder Bryan Hughes handed a starting berth against the club he spent three years at before being released in the summer.

Jay-Jay Okocha is the man to miss out, and is not in the squad at all.

Perhaps he has the mystery bug...
