AKP defends the constitution works:

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) continues to defend the process of rewriting the constitution despite the growing uneasiness among nongovernmental organizations, political parties and universities about the methods used.

“It should be known that the AKP, our friends in the party, myself and all of us are as sensitive as everybody about secularism and the fundamental gains of the state, the Republic and democracy,” Minister of Industry Zafer Çağlayan told reporters.
