Providing a sustainable energy supply is fundamental to modern society. It is both a long term and a global issue. The UK Government has the task of ensuring an affordable and reliable energy supply whilst making significant reductions in carbon dioxide emissions. Through the work of our Energy Policy Advisory Group, the Royal Society has delivered independent advice to policy makers on a range of these issues.
