Cycling – Triple silver podiums for Onimpex RT

Andrew Tinsley pulled off a double podium performance at the weekend to clinch bronze in the North West Regional RR Championships (Click for larger image) and 24 hours earlier going one better with a silver medal in the LVRC National Criterium Championships at his first attempt.

Tinsley, riding in the A class took on the tough Darley Moor course against a strong field for the Onimpex Bioracer RT in superb weather but with the customary heavy headwind on the first half of the circuit.

Second place for Tinsley was a superb achievement for a man new to the LVRC and another podium place for his new bike supplier Museeuw.

“Darley Moor is always tough,” commented Tinsley “and I’m amazed at the strength and quality of the opposition. I’m very happy with the result.”

A day later and arguably Tinsley did even better, taking bronze in the North West Regional Championships against a very strong field of riders, many half his age.

Riding hard to bridge a gap of 1’25” from the bunch to a super strong Mark Lovatt, Tinsley was piped in the final sprint by both Lovatt and young Pete Williams (Kinesis).

Onimpex Bioracer RT notched up 2 further silver medals in a superb weekend for the team with Steve Davis taking second place aboard his Museeuw in the LVRC Crit Championships B class and super tough rider Steve Jolley repeating the feat in class C

“It’s been a hell of a weekend for us!” said team boss Ken Jones “The boys have ridden fabulously and the new Museeuw bikes have proved not only comfortable but clearly pretty fast too!”
