Ms Wanjiru Muiruri on the Kenyan Sex Crimes Bill
Who is funding "progressive" human rights activists to rewrite Kenyan law, on the sly, with the intention of hoodwinking Kenyans into endorsing values they have not considered, and in most cases, do not support?

June 22, 2007: Amusement of triumph was rife during the recent gathering of Kenya’s gay and lesbian community in the leafy estate town of Hurligham just four kilometres from Nairobi.

Showing militant solidarity and unity, the gay community – coming from various Kenya’s towns such as Kisumu, Eldoret, Mombasa, Nyeri and Thika – was happy to share commitments and experiences of being gay in that country.

The gathering went well without any violence as it was protected by the Kenyan police.

Although it was meant for gays in Kenya, the gathering attracted many people including ambassadors representing many different countries in Kenya, especially those who advocate for gay rights.

They danced and dinned together while revealing their support for gays generally.

“I am happy to meet other people who are gays though we are doing it undercover because it’s illegal in Kenya. We hope our members of parliament will listen to our demands and introduce a motion in parliament to legalise all this”, lamented one of the ambassadors, John Mwagi* as he entered the gate with his girlfriend.

The party was attended by over a thousand gays, lesbians and bisexuals and declared to work together as a team until their rights realised and respected.

Most of the diplomats attended assured the gay community a bright future, no only in Kenya but in many African states.
