Hello all! Insomnium will do one live show here in Finland in September 5th at Virgin Oil CO, Helsinki. Other acts that night include at least Tracedawn and Kiuas. This will be probably our only show during this year, so if you want to catch us live, get your tickets in time!

24.1.2008 | Insomnium Myspace down...
Insomnium Myspace went down few days ago. It seems that we got hacked and our count was destroyed, which is nice...We're still sorting this out and trying to get the site online but to be honest we're not expecting miracles. We'll let you know when we get more information.

13.1.2008 | News and plans for the year 2008...
Hi All! Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who came to see us week ago in Joensuu, you were great and it was blast. Unfortunately some of you didn't make it inside but there was nothing we were able to do about it. Hopefully you're able to catch us live some other time! Many people also asked for Insomnium hoodies which will be available from Fanzone soon I think. In the meanwhile, you can order hoodies directly from Plastichead or from other webshops (levykauppa X, Hellsinki shop). We have been also tried to find out why new people are not able to register to our forum anymore. Unfortunately, we haven't got any answer from webmaster yet. So, if the things won't get better we have to think about opening new forum to some other location. Ideas and propositions are welcome.

This spring in INSOMNIUM camp will be dedicated on writing and rehearsing new material which will become 4th Insomnium album. We might do some festival gigs in the summer or might not. However, the new material and the new record will be our main concern and top priority for this year. We have already tried out few new songs, and the things are starting to look promising. Still, we don't want to rush with things but deliver as good album as possible. We'll keep you up to date, more news will follow...VF/INSOMNIUM

6.12.2007 | Thank you Europe!
Boy it's good to be home. We like to thank all the people who came to see our shows and supported us buying merchandise and CD's. This is highly appreciated, you 're the best. We also like to thank all the guys in the Amorphis and Swallow the Sun, we can't imagine better company to tour with. We will add last chapters to our tour blog within few days. We were not able to do this during last days on tour because it seems they haven't invented wlan in Sweden yet. But don't worry, soon you have some more reading to do.

11.11.2007 | INSOMNIUM off to Europe!
We just hit the road and left snowy Joensuu behind us. Germany, here we come. More stories will follow to our traditional tour blog which can be viewed HERE

5.11.2007 | Last show in Finland before entering writing mode
Insomnium will play one more show in Finland 5.1.2008 in our hometown Joensuu (Karjalantalo) with our labelmates Omnium Gatherum. After this we will put all our energy and time to write and rehearse the follow-up album to "Above the Weeping World".

9.10.2007 | One more show added, deal with Amfisound and exit Sharon&Factory; Music...
Insomnium will play one more show 3.11.2007 in Hellsinki (Gloria) with Before the Dawn etc. We are also planning to make one show in our hometown Joensuu in the beginning of the next year.

Ville F. has made a deal with Amfisound. Handmade custom guitar will be ready in the beginning of the next year. Pictures and story about building the guitar will follow later.

We have also terminated our contract with Sharon Richardson (from Factory music) who handleld our European and UK booking. Consequently, Insomnium is now seeking for new booking agency which could handle Europe, UK and North America or some parts of these areas. 3.10.2007 | Back in Finland finally!
Hi all, we made it back. It was hell of an ride! Big thanks goes to all of you our dear American fans. You made our trip just amazing an definitely worthwhile. We really hope to come back soon as possible. I also finally updated the three last days to our tour blog which can be read from HERE. We will also do couple shows here in Finland before hitting the road with Amorphis and Swallow the Sun in Europe. Here's the dates:

5.6.2007 | European Tour with Amorphis and Swallow the Sun!
INSOMNIUM will support Amorphis and Swallow the Sun in Europe later this fall. The tour consists of a total of 16 shows covering Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Norway and Sweden and will end in Helsinki, Finland.

24.5.2007 | US Tour confirmed with Katatonia, Scar Symmetry and Swallow the Sun!
INSOMNIUM is more than happy to announce that we will team up with Katatonia (SWE), Scar Symmetry (SWE) and Swallow the Sun (FIN) to carry out our first US appearance in the September 2007! The mighty Katatonia will be headlining and we will do our best to give the best support we’re able to for this great and influential metal band. It is also great opportunity to get to the same van with our good buddies from Swallow the Sun and I’m pretty sure it will be a one hell of a ride! The tour will start from Springfield (VA) and end in Houston (TX) covering total of 19 cities. Hi there! INSOMNIUM has made a deal with Fanzone who will from now on handle the official INSOMNIUM WebShop. Currently shirts, CD’s and badges are available and the orders are delivered across the whole world. Payment can be done directly with credit card, bank transfer or through paypal. 28.2.2007 | New gigs and downloads section updated
Insomnium will play in Tampere klubi 16.3 With April and Silentium and in Seinäjoki rytmikorjaamo 17.3. Insomnium has been also confirmed to the Tuska Open Air and Ilosaarirock summer festivals. Further, some tabulatures and two Finnish radio interviews added to the download section. Candlelight is currently planning to get us to the US soil in the end of this year. So all you American fans, your requests have been heard. We will keep you posted.

Insomnium would like to thank all the people who helped us during this year! We feel that this year has been extremely positive for us and we wish that more good things will come to our way next year. We really worked hard for the "Above" during the first half of this year and at this point it's so rewarding to realize that all the work paid off. Thank you all, you know who you are!!! Currently we are relaxing and enjoying our well-earned holiday but the updates are on their way and we will hopefully get new stuff online by the new year. Niilo will be this week's guest at radio show called Todistaja X. Expect Niilo's all time favourites from middle eighties to current day metal acts. You can listen the radio show online HERE at 21:00 tomorrow.

And yes, Insomnium will be playing in Finnish Metal Expo this year. The gig will take place on saturday, specific details will be announced as soon as we know them.

18.12.2006 | INSOMNIUM nominated in Finnish Metal Awards 2006!
Insomnium has been nominated for two categories in Finnish Metal Awards 2006! You can vote "Above the Weeping World" as album of the year and for the best album art work in HERE! We want to also apologise the lack of updates. We will take care of this during the Christmas with lots of new stuff and some special christmas gift ;)

Niilo and Ville F. will be also visiting Finnish tv-program called "Rautaryhmä" tomorrow! Check it out in Subtv at 23:35 in Finnish time.

We like to thank all the people that came to see us to Night Life Rock Helsinki and Henry's pub Kuopio, you were just great! Concerning the next gig in the Helsinki On the Rock's (1.11): our good friends in Noumena will join with us and Scourger on stage to celebrate the release of their new album titled "Anatomy of Life". Be there, because their new album simply rocks!

Additionally, Aleksi Munter from Swallow the Sun will join us on stage tomorrow in Lutakko to perform some serious keyboard art ;) Be there in time so you can catch up amazing Dawn of Solace and Before the Dawn live as well!

We just got home safely yesterday from our first European tour. Thanks for all people that came to watch our shows and supported us by buying shirts and cd's, you rule! Hope we can rock your town again in the future! Big thanks goes also to Keep of Kalessin and sister of merch, Marie and Dawn. We'll drink to you in Tavastia, Cheers :)

And concerning the gig in Tavastia this thursday (19.10), we'll have a guest musician on stage as Aleksi Munter from Swallow the Sun will join us with keyboards for few songs. Insomnium showtime is approximately at 23-23:30 and we'll play about an one hour long set. And if the post office won't fuck up we will have one t-shirt model ("New Logo", regular and girlies) for sale besides CD's. See you there!

Insomnium will play in Mikkeli at Korjaamo Metal Fest on friday 4.8.2006. The fest is held at veturitallit (address: Ratakatu 1), price for the 2 day ticket is only 10€ and Insomnium showtime is set 23:00 sharp. Expect olden goldies and some new material as well.

20.7.2006 | UK Tour grows to European Tour!
As mentioned previously, Insomnium will tour in September with Enslaved, Zyklon and 1349 in Ireland and UK. However, we are now proud to announce that after these gigs we will continue touring with Satyricon and Keep of Kalessin in the rest of the Europe. In practise this means that we will play total of 35 shows during September and October and the tour will span 16 European countries! Now you finally get what you have asked for. At the same time we're sorry to announce that we're forced to cancel our gig in Bloodstock indoor festival 30.9.2006. We really wanted to do this one, hopefully we get there some other year!
