Empire Trade Exchange Commodore Cup

Empire Trade Exchange Commodore Cup National Series competitors don’t speak in tenths of a second - they speak in hundredths!

It is hard not to feel sorry for a competitor who misses pole position by only one or two tenths of a second and is on the fourth row of the grid.

The category operates under one of this country’s most tightly controlled sets of regulations - which produces incredibly close lap times and also leads to close, action packed racing..

The VS Commodores run a highly modified 4.2 litre Holden V8 engine producing around 350hp, and the cars are renowned for their ‘fire-breathing’ exhausts.

Around $30,000 to $40,000 buys or builds a front running car with only a minimal spares inventory required due to the inherent reliability of the cars components. Generally speaking the cars are not far behind the pace of the V8 Supercars with only half the horsepower, yet the V8 Holdens are surprisingly quick and nimble.

Shannon’s Production Car Championship
The ultimate ‘showroom showdown’, the Shannons Australian Production Car Championship is the showpiece of Production Car Association of Australia (PCAA).

The race cars are ‘straight off the show-room floor’, with only a few components modified to ensure driver safety.

Divided into 3 classes according to engine capacity, a unique handicap system provides fair racing and a thrilling spectator experience. Car include Ford Falcon XR8, Toyota Celica and Ford Focus.

The roots of Australian motorsport go deep into production car racing, and the Championship is bringing about an exciting renaissance in this form of motor racing.

Supaloc Saloon Car Championship
Holden versus Ford rivalry is alive and well in the ‘tin top’ Saloon Car ranks. Running recent model Holden Commodore and Ford Falcons, this popular form of Australian motor racing is fast and affordable.

With the identifiable Aussie icon six-cylinder cars consistently producing surprisingly quick lap times, it is not hard to see why the Saloon Car Championship has developed a significant following.

Don’t be fooled by the family sedan image. These machines are true racecars, with straight-line speed of over 250km/h. The category constantly monitors parity between the cars to ensure hard, close racing and great entertainment.

Kerrick Industrial Sports Sedan Series
Nothing can compare to the Machinery in the Australian Sports Sedan Championship - With a majority of cars using 6-liter Chevrolet V8 engines, spaceframe chassis and some impressive technology, these animals lap quicker than a V8 Supercar at most circuits.

With cars from Saab, Holden, Ford, Audi, Chevrolet, Jaguar and more - this is a field worth watching.
What is a Sports Sedan?
A Sports Sedan is simply Australia's fastest saloon racing car.
A sports sedan must be derived from a mass-produced car where more than 5000 examples of the model have been built in one year. Naturally, each Sports Sedan must be fitted with a roll cage and include all other safety features and an engine size restricted to 6 litres capacity.
These 'wild and winged' Sports Sedans are motor racing's most modified machines. Under most generaously broad rules, constructors can build wild and wonderful works of mechanical art that originated from the family car.
The Sports Sedans category is one where freedom of expression is regarded a a legitimate means to an end - and that end in performance, and lots of it.
