Once upon a time, back in the early 80s, there was a Gerry Anderson
Exhibition located in Blackpool. 'Space City' comprised mainly models
and costumes from Anderson's most recent series Space:1999 but also
featured a few interesting oddities. Into Infinity was well represented
by the Altares, plus the shuttle (inspired by Thunderbird
2) and Space Station Delta (partially cannibalised from the enormous Daria model).
Also on show were the final version of the Starcruiser model, the
puppets and set from the Jif commercial, plus a few more familiar
faces. Fortunately, Andersonic's in-house photographer was on the spot
with his first camera to capture the moment for posterity.
